George Catsicadellis has spent three decades watching the same problem play out across every corner of South Africa. Starting as a prosecutor in Cape Town in the early 1990s, then as an advocate defending some of the country’s most complex cases, He saw firsthand how the legal system was designed to be navigated by the few who could afford it (and a public that had learned to fear the law rather than use it).

So he and his partners built something different.

URights Africa is a South African-built, AI-powered legal guidance platform, trained specifically on South African law, legislation, court cases, regulations, and common law, and made accessible to everyone for less than the price of a cup of coffee per day.

A motorcycle accident, a R40,000 insurance offer on a R130,000 claim, and an insurance company that was banking on the fact that most people won’t push back.

One URights client did. He used the platform to draft a letter of demand, generate a summons, walk into the clerk’s office by himself, with no attorney or legal fees, and have that summons stamped and placed on the roll.

That moment is exactly what URights was built for.
