Founded in 2006, J2 Software began with a shared desk in a warehouse, recognising the growing need for information security and compliance offerings. What started as two people with laptops and a shared data card has evolved into a global security-led services provider with a physical presence in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and London. 

Today, we service over 700 customers across five continents. What sets us apart? We do what’s necessary, not just what’s contracted. The 2008 financial crisis prompted us to pivot to an annuity services-based revenue model, expanding from pure information security to a comprehensive security-led services business. We were proud to be a “15-year overnight success.” We maintain our startup mindset while delivering enterprise-level security solutions.

Our proudest achievements span from survival to significance. We’ve grown to employ nearly 50 people, providing full medical aid, pension, risk, and life cover for every employee—many experiencing these benefits for the first time. We’re investing in the future through 11 paid learnerships, with 10 more starting soon.

Beyond business success, we’re making a real difference by working with initiatives like Rural Reach, helping farm labourers access technology and education. We’ve supplied infrastructure to enable digital access in townships, understanding that you can’t apply for jobs online without connectivity. It’s not just about running a successful business—it’s about creating opportunities and changing lives.
